Betfred Championship Preview | Round 10

League leaders London Broncos return to action in Round 10 of the Betfred Championship.

The Broncos will welcome Sheffield Eagles to the capital on Saturday and could go two points clear at the top of the table if they come away with a victory.

Craig Lingard will be expecting an immediate response from his Eagles outfit, following their disappointing derby defeat to Doncaster on Good Friday.

Will Lovell needs one appearance to draw level with Steele Retchless as London’s all-time leader, which would be a remarkable achievement for his boyhood club.

On Sunday, Salford and Batley will take on each other. Both sides enter this match on the back of emphatic wins over the Easter Weekend, but who will go back-to-back? It's Salford who have home advantage again.

On the contrary, Dewsbury and Widnes will be hoping to bounce back from their unpleasant losses in the previous round. They will meet for the first time since 2024.

Goole will host Whitehaven in Round 10. There are two previous meetings between the sides, with the Vikings running out 56-6 winners in Round 15 last year, and Whitehaven winning 42-24 in the reverse fixture (Round 9).

Halifax Panthers line up against Oldham this weekend, but can anyone stop the Roughyeds? They have won their last four matches and are showing no signs of slowing down.

‘Fax, however, currently hold the spoils, having beaten them convincingly in last year’s Eliminators (4-40). Will Oldham get their revenge or will the Panthers triumph at The Shay?

Hunslet will head into Round 10 full of confidence after ending up on the right end of a thrilling points fest with Keighley Cougars last week.

They will have a tough task on their hands though, as an in-form Newcastle Thunder come to town.

Elsewhere, Keighley are at home to North Wales Crusaders – two teams hoping to climb the league ladder, whilst Rochdale play Barrow for the first time since 2022.

Finally, Midlands Hurricanes travel to Cumbria to face Workington, with the third-placed Canes looking to keep tabs on the top two, London and Doncaster.
